Eric Pettit Lion Live at the Market
April 28 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm$5
Eric Pettit Lion is a mainstay in the Iowa music scene, performing year round and has now released four full length albums. The original family duo of Pettit and Tim Buhmeyer are still at the helm. Alongside them now are multi-instrumentalist and cousin, Ed Mansheim, relocated from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and local talent, Micah Oleson on bass.
Their Americana sound has developed over the last decade into something fantastic. The interplay between Pettit’s rhythm guitar and vocal headlining combined with Mansheim’s undulating lead guitar, Buhmeyer’s distorted harmonica, and Oleson’s refreshing bass lines only get more satisfyingly complex as they continue to create new music. The vocal power that is the Lion is stronger than ever with four part harmonies as well as each singing lead on select songs. They are taking on uncharted waters in their latest work, One Shot, by introducing the saxophone as well as electric guitars and bass for a unique display of atmospherically ephemeral and relevant instrumentation.
Doors @ 7pm. Show @ 8pm. $5 cover. 21+ w/ ID to drink.
